Great Torrington is also home to the famous Dartington Crystal centre and The Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden Rosemoor. We are a short bus ride from the beaches of Westward Ho!, Ilfracombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands which are very popular holiday destinations in the area. These bus routes will also take you past Atlantic Village outlet shopping centre and Barnstaple high street.

Here at Glen Tor we pride ourselves on our comfortable, homely environment in which centre on our residents who get on extremely well and regard each other as extended family. We never use agency staff so you will never see an unfamiliar face, meaning that you will always have company from people familiar to you. All the residents are involved in all aspects of running the house and this helps them to take pride in where they live.

We excel in helping people to retain their independence whilst gently taking the stress out of running their own home. 

As well as your monthly rental, utility bills and council tax, the monthly fee includes, breakfast provisions for your room, daily home cooked 2 course lunch and hi-tea, room cleaning and laundry service all provided by Abbeyfield staff.

We also provide a running programme of social activities:

• Monthly coffee morning on the third Friday of every month – 10:30am until 12 noon
• Religious services provided by the local community on the third Wednesday of every month – 10:30am until 12 noon. 

We also organise many outings supported by our lovely volunteers.
